BARRY CROSSLEY:
Testimonials for Pantomimes Using My Scripts.
"As a choreographer using Barry's pantos are a dream. Modern music mixed with old classics, it's easy to work creatively! A great mix for songs and dances that lead seamlessly in and out of scenes making my job so easy! My dancers are always excited to see what songs they will get to dance to each year!"
JENNY, BASE PERFORMING ARTS, Manchester
Santa Claus The Panto "Barry Crossley understood the necessary elements involved when writing his pantomime, and helped this production along even further by starring in it as the dame, Mary Christmas. Barry was energetic throughout and really engaged with the audience; he obviously enjoyed partaking in something he had contributed so much to."
NODA
"The panto plots are well thought out, they have an engaging beginning and finish happily ever after. The humour is for all ages, children and adults and the gags have been well constructed. The slapstick scenes are hilarious. The laundry scene in Aladdin is classic. I defy anyone to leave the theatre after seeing one of Barry's pantomimes not smiling and saying they have enjoyed themselves. They are brilliant."
SCOTT LEES, Cheshire
Jack and the Beanstalk "Who ever decided to play this as a short person and put Dominic on his knees was inspired. I literally couldn’t stop laughing every time he was on stage. The wonderful thing about watching this young performer is his total lack of awkwardness to get the laugh. He delivered this role with stage presence in buckets and experience well beyond his years."
SHARON DRUMMOND, NODA
Rapunzel "The Burnley Pantomime Society’s production of Rapunzel, written by Barry Crossley, was a delight from start to finish, offering a heart-warming and thoroughly entertaining evening for all ages. In summary, the pantomime succeeded in capturing the true spirit of the genre – engaging, interactive, and packed with local flavour and humour."
ACT REVIEW
Alice in Wonderland "How wonderful then that Donnington has added to the ongoing reputation of this classic story with one the most fabulous pantomimes I’ve seen in recent years."
Chris Bell, NODA
Robinson Crusoe and the Adventures of Skull Island "Although set traditionally, this pantomime is an amalgamation between the traditional tale and a modern Pantomime with bright and garish panto Dame . One of the best things about this panto was the brilliantly funny script! I cannot explain how funny this script was and I would thoroughly recommend it to any society out there!"
Joe Clarke, NODA
"Panto can live or die on the strength of the script but also the strength of the dame’s performance. Barry Crossley knows his craft and has perfected the persona of his dame through years of performances, whether it be Nurse Nelly, Nanny Annie and in this case Dolly Dishcloth"
Scott Lees
Aladdin "Barry was evidently a credit to this production as both a writer and performer, his passion and understanding of this art form was clear as he’d incorporated every ingredient needed to produce a quality pantomime."
Kevin Proctor, NODA
"Brilliant split humour for young & old"
DIANE WRIGHT, Manchester
Red Riding Hood "The Dame Grandma Hood was played brilliantly by Barry Crossley who also wrote the script. His comic timing was excellent and every time he was on stage there was comedy gold."
Sharon Drummond, NODA
Jack and the Beanstalk 2015 "This script has Barry Crossley's stamp all over it !! A magical giant size show for all the family. Its affectionate, fast moving, hilarious and bang up to date with both it's comedy and well chosen musical numbers"
SUSAN FERREIRA, Oldham
Cinderella "This was a fabulous pantomime which really did have something for everyone, and the evening went by in a flash. Laughter rang around the auditorium throughout the performance and this really did feel like a talented group of cast and creatives who were flexing their muscles and demonstrating what they could achieve together. Truly excellent stuff."
ADAM CALVERT, NODA
Snow White "A seamless production with everything one would expect from both the story & a pantomime. Each scene was filled to its maximum with puns, animation, charm & whit & the pace of the production was consistently maintained which kept all the younger audience members engaged & chanting along with the audience involvement as expected. There was great use of the stock characterisations as well as some detailed additions which added to the nostalgia and humour."
NATHAN BENSON, NODA
Mother Goose "This was a wonderful production from start to finish which had all audience members egging the players along and laughing from their bellies throughout."
NATHAN BENSON, NODA
Jack "This was a panto peppered with lovely moments, some great looking set pieces and which was wholesome and entertaining."
